The Foundation held their awards ceremony for excellent schools in its 2019 Dokdo Keepers School program on December 5 in the conference room. The Foundation screened 120 elementary, middle, and high schools designated for the program, and selected 24 excellent schools. The awards ceremony for excellent Dokdo Keepers schools began in 2016, and has contributed to raising students’ understanding and interest in Dokdo by supporting creative and autonomous club activities. Teachers and students of 19 schools, including the grand prize winning Changsin Elementary School in Incheon and Imun High School in Daejeon, participated in the awards ceremony and shared in the delight of the awards. Along with the awards ceremony, there were presentations about club activities by the grand prize winners and lectures to learn about Dokdo’s diverse ecosystem. The accomplishments of the Dokdo clubs of the 120 schools can be found on the Foundation’s home page. Applications for the 2020 Dokdo Keepers School program will be received from late February to early March.
