워싱턴회의와 한국 독립 문제, 그 의미와 시사점
The Washington Conference and the Korean Independence Issue, its meaning and implications This year marks the centenary of the Washington Conference, which lasted from mid-November 1921 until early February of the following year. The Washington Conference was held in Washington for about four months, with European and American powers and Japan to discuss arms reduction and issues in the Asia-Pacific region. It is also called the Washington Disarmament Conference, The Washington Naval Conference, or the Pacific Conference, the Pacific Disarmament Conference. This had a great impact on the international situation at the time. So, the term 'Washington Treaty System' was used for a while, and it is known that it had a great influence on the independence movement of the Korean people. Therefore, I would like to briefly review the background and main contents of this conference, especially the facts and significance related to the independence movement of Korea, and the implications of today.

The Washington Conference on the View of Korean National Movement History More than a hundred years ago, after World War I, the United States and Japan were in conflict and confrontation. In this situation, the world paid attention to the US President Harding's proposal to hold the Washington Conference to discuss issues related to East Asia and the Pacific region. The nationalists in Korea were no exception. At that time, the Korean Commission to America and Europe and the Provisional Government of Shanghai were experiencing recession and internal division. They thought the Washington conference was a good opportunity to fix the crisis that had hit them and regain the initiative of the independence movement. The academic community has been interested in the relationship between the Washington Conference and the Korean National Movement since early on, but it is true that there have not been many comprehensive studies on it. I have heard from Professor Ko Jeong-hyu who has been studying the Korean National Movement, the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea and founding the Republic of Korea since the mid-1980s about the Washington Conference(1921-22).

The past that became the present: Makes tomorrow with a history record NAHF's Northeast Asian History Net(http://contents.nahf.or.kr) has been developing the database for 10 years this year. It is not easy to visit NAHF's data room due to the Covid-19 that started last year. NAHF complements and expands the contents of the Northeast Asian History Net, making it convenient for the general public as well as the researchers to use the website. In particular, this year, we plan to release additional materials related to the Korea-Japan talks, which can be regarded as the cause of the conflict between Korea and Japan. These data are about the official documents of Korea and Japan, and the war criminals among the data related to the sexual slavery victims for the Japanese imperial army. I hope that the books, documents, relics, research data, laws, and old maps provided by NAHF through the Northeast Asian History Net will help you understand history and establish a right history.

American and European academia's perception of Chinese history, and an academic conference to review the description of Korean history - A Comprehensive Analysis and Commentary on the Full Series of 『The Cambridge History of China』 NAHF held an academic conference on December 10 for a comprehensive review of 『The Cambridge History of China』 series. This can be an important basis for understanding the difference in historical perception between the US and European academics and Chinese academics. 『The Cambridge History of China』 series is the most prestigious publication of the world's history series published in English in the United States and Europe, and has a great influence on Chinese academia. The series is a collection of studies on Chinese history in the United States and European academia. Since 「Volume 10, Late Ch'ing, 1800–1911, Part 1」 was published in 1978, 「Volume 2, The Six Dynasties, 220–589」 was published in November 2019. A total of 17 books were published, and finally left 「Volume 4, Sui and T'ang China, 589–906 AD, Part 2」.

Okjeo and Eupru, a History Forgotten from Us We live in South Korea, but history is not limited to this place. Our history such as Goguryeo, Balhae, Buyeo, Okjeo, and Eupru also exists in the northern regions of North Korea and Manchuria. In the process of the growth and destruction of Gojoseon, the first nation in our history, the Korean Peninsula and Manchuria were separated into various groups and countries. Among them, there is a history that only the name is known, and even the research to grasp its reality is not done properly. The 'Okjeo' that lived in the Korean East Sea Rim along the East Coast to the Maritime Province, and the 'Malgal' which formed the foundation of the Balhae, was an unknown history that was rarely known in Korean archaeology and ancient history.

The Korea-Japan Future Forum The Korea-Japan Future Forum is a private exchange organization established to promote intellectual exchanges, cooperation and mutual understanding between Korea and Japan.　Since registering with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in December 2005, we have held a forum involving experts, policy officers, researchers, journalists, citizens and college students in related fields on issues between Korea and Japan.　In May 2007, the name was changed to the Korea-Japan Future Forum to collect more diverse agendas and contribute to the establishment of future-oriented Korea-Japan relations.　The group has 1,400 Koreans and 800 Japanese members.　There are 850 members who are active in SNS such as Facebook.　It is the bridge connecting Korea and Japan, and is the most representative private organization in Korea.
