The Northeast Asian History Foundation’s Comprehensive Education and Training Institute held a two-day history education training program from February 24 to 25 for 40 elementary and secondary school teachers and multicultural specialists. The program was organized to explore the direction history education should take amid the rapidly changing multicultural society and to strengthen practical responsiveness in educational settings.

The participating teachers and specialists expressed high satisfaction with the selection of the theme and the expertise of the curriculum. In particular, they responded positively to the opportunity for in-depth discussions—ranging from human exchanges in ancient East Asia to how to teach current Northeast Asian historical issues to students from migrant backgrounds with diverse cultural experiences.

Going forward, the Foundation will continue its efforts to strengthen teacher capacity and to develop history education content that reflects multicultural sensitivity, so that all students can engage with history without prejudice and cultivate attitudes of mutual respect.
