The Northeast Asian History Foundation (NAHF), Inha University and the UC Berkeley Law of the Sea Institute (LSI) hold the 4th Conference on the Law of the Sea and Ocean Policy from August 26, 2009 (Wednesday) through August 29, 2009 (Saturday) local time at the East-West Center, Honolulu, United States. Held under the theme of “Law of the Sea and Ocean Policy Issues Related to the Pacific Ocean and the Pacific Rim,” the conference is designed to find comprehensive ways to deal with ongoing issues concerning the law of the sea.

Themes for the previous years have been: “Towards a Framework for the New Order of the Sea” (2006); “Law of the Sea – A Half Century after the Geneva Conventions” (2007); and “Oceanic Dominance – Function, Structure and Challenge” (2008).
