The title is a collection of research papers regarding historical reconciliation for the establishment of East Asian Community and further development in East Asia. In 2009, a research project was carried out in which the researchers examined the perspectives of Korea, China and Japan on East Asia and their limitations. In 2010, they analyzed recent regional policies of the three East Asian countries in terms of economy and security, and presented policy direction for Korea. In particular, the title examines recent policies and discussions from the perspective of pursuing East Asian Community, introduces individual countries' policies and presents useful measures for policy-making. The title discusses a plan to create a peaceful community in East Asia to overcome territorial disputes, and describes the role of Korea using the concept of "soft power". The title will contribute to the development of new discussions in this regard.
